Locking Dance Clothing

Much has been made of the clothing that lockers typically wear which may involve big apple hats, braces, stipey socks and other colourful clothing.

In the fact the reason for the clothing was largely due to the fact that when The Lockers started performing in television the producers would want them to have a uniform of some sort.

And so they responded with this colourful and vibrant ensemble that they are known for.

Like people like to learn the dance moves traditionally associated with The Lockers and the signature steps of the difference OG's (original generation lockers), they also like to dress like them.

In a way it helps you get into the part and imagine what it was like to be a locker. The costume of course lends a performance quality to the dance as well.

The costume also does help the moves look more distinct when performing them so is often used by lockers when they are taking part in a locking battle.

In fact in any sort of performance whether it is one dancer or a group of them they will usually be geared out in a full locking dance costume.

It is one of the things that helps other dancers to identify the lockers. Would you miss the locker in the room if they were dressed like that?

The items of the costume themselves are not too hard to get hold of, and so lockers all around the world can easily adopt this uniform.

It is also common to wear kneepads underneath the trousers to protect the knees if the locker will be performing any moves on the ground.
